GERMAN CASTLE ROAD TRIP: Exploring Mosel Valley (Part 2)

In part 2 of our ROAD TRIP THROUGH MOSEL VALLEY, we continue exploring Germany's most beautiful medieval castles and the local wine of Mosel Valley. We start by driving to the cute medieval German town of Cochem. It's a popular tourist destination and in the center of town stands Cochem Castle (Reichsburg Cochem), which you can hike up to.

Cochem Castle is beautiful to look at from the outside and inside. You can only visit by booking a guided tour through the castle, which costs 8,50€, but it's definitely worth it! The views from the castle of the Mosel and Cochem are great and the tour is very interesting, too. We then make our way to a winery called Kloster Ebernach to try a variety of great local Riesling (white wine). We also check out a great wine garden that boasts great views of Cochem Castle.

To finish off our medieval castle road trip, we then head to Ehrenburg, which is another medieval castle that you can spend the night in! We check in to our room and explore the castle, enjoy a three course dinner and then catch a glimpse of medieval life the next day when the Ehrenburg castle "comes to life".
