In the Marine Corps, vacation time, known as leave, plays a vital role in the lives of all Marines. Marines earn 2.5 days of leave per month/30 days per year which allows them to take personal vacations, attend family events, or handle personal emergencies.

Leave requests are submitted through the chain of command, and approval depends on operational needs and personnel availability. During leave, Marines are relieved from duties and continue to receive regular pay.
