We are apt to confuse the content of our thinking for our self - or for reality. Yet what we perceive with the mind is not nearly so impactful as HOW we perceive. When we turn away from ego - because we are not ego - we make contact with that which can turn away. What is it that was paying attention to the ego's story of suffering and scarcity, doom and gloom? And can it give attention to something else?

The Holy Spirit is the part of our mind that gives attention: it is a dynamic process rather than an object or entity. When you discover "running," you don't put it on the shelf. You do it. You run. The Holy Spirit is a way of being fully present to the present moment, without judgment or conditions of any kind. And this kind of looking is inherent in you; it is what you are in truth.

Turning our mind over to the Holy Spirit is the beginning rather than the end of our spiritual journey. Yet the love and unity demonstrated in its loving gaze are hints of the glorious peace and joy that is our home. In relationship with the Holy Spirit, we remember Love, and becoming more and more comfortable with it until at last it gently envelopes us.
