The Phillips County Museum provides visitors with discoveries from the nearby Judith River Formation. Seventy-seven million years ago, this formation stood as the bank of a shallow, warm inland sea, which created the perfect habitat for dinosaurs and resulted in a rich deposit of fossils. While visiting the museum, meet “Elvis” the 33-foot-long Brachylophosaurus fossil which is one of the best articulated skeletons ever found.

Lori Taylor is the curator at the Phillips County Museum. Her interest in history came from her grandfather.

Montana is rich in paleontological history and has produced some of the most important dinosaur finds. The Montana Dinosaur Trail is a consortium of 14 museums across the state of Montana. Each facility features dinosaur related displays and many of the museums and their staff are actively adding to paleontology research.
