Song written by British musician Mike Oldfield, released as a single in May 1983 and included in the album Crises.
Moonlight Shadow was a huge success in Europe, reaching the top of the charts in Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Norway The vocal of the song is performed by Scottish singer Maggie Reilly, Oldfield collaborator since 1980.
Later the song was often sung by other singers, including Anita Hegerland and Miriam Stockley.
The song over the years has been the subject of numerous cover songs, among which is reminiscent of The Shadows.
