Weekly Walk: North Meadow & the Tennis Courts of Central Park

Описание к видео Weekly Walk: North Meadow & the Tennis Courts of Central Park

When Central Park was first built, North Meadow was established so New Yorkers could play sports there —at the time, that meant cricket and baseball. Today, the North Meadow has been restored by the #CentralParkConservancy to accommodate both athletes and picknickers.

Twelve ballfields for baseball, softball, and soccer are here, and 30 tennis courts are nearby. Take a virtual stroll through one of New York’s first recreational facilities.

The mission of the Central Park Conservancy is to preserve and celebrate Central Park as a sanctuary from the pace and pressures of city life, enhancing the enjoyment and wellbeing of all.
