In this late autumn drive you can drive along on the Bundesstraßen B313, B312 and B28 in Baden-Württemberg, just South of the Stuttgart metropolitan area. We start our descend at Schloss Lichtenstein (Lichtenstein castle) and then make our way North towards the city of Reutlingen.

Despite being Bundesstraßen, there has been quite some investments in this infrastructure as you can see, and it's relatively well-maintained. There are a few long tunnels that bypass urban areas, and there are a few two-lane expressways to handle all the traffic. Reutlingen is a decent-sized city (100.000+ inhabitants) and there are a lot of people living in the area that commute to the Stuttgart area on a daily basis. Furthermore the region and it's impressive landscapes is popular among tourists.

The destination in this video is Metzingen, a historical city that has been turned into a destination for shoppers. Whereas most outlet city's tend to be on the edge of an urban area or city, in the case of Metzingen it was integrated in the heart of the town. I am not sure if it was at the cost of any historical buildings, but there still seem to be many standing in the center. Despite it being a modern looking outlet city, you still get the feeling you are walking around in a historical city. Metzingen outlet city is very popular as you can see, even in times of corona. As far as I know it's also the HQ of fashion brand Hugo Boss.
