Sacramento's Secret Dead Mall: Sutter Square Galleria

Today we pay a visit to the Sutter Square Galleria in Sacramento, CA. This former mall still exists with the aesthetics of the mid 80s. The only remaining public tenants are a cell phone dealer and a credit union. There is a pizza restaurant that is only accessible from outside the building. Most of the top floors were formerly occupied by the UC Davis extension center. According to news articles, this mall never really thrived and had struggles from nearly the beginning, although at one point it housed one of the busiest Blockbuster Video locations in the state. The mall is in a prime location so it's somewhat surprising how many vacancies there are. It's still kept in pristine condition and I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
