Kassa: 10-minute practice track

Описание к видео Kassa: 10-minute practice track

Here is a practice track of Kassa with ballet rather than traditional dunduns. It includes two djembe parts, a traditional sangban part, and the ballet dunduns. Kassa is a popular rhythm from Guinea, West Africa. It is played while men harvest or walk to the field. It is also played to celebrate the harvest.
If you would like for it to be faster or slower, you can change the tempo incrementally by going to settings, playback speed, and custom (up top).
You can learn the parts included here from straight from the source: master drummer Fara Tolno's Rhythm Reference Project (http://www.rhythmreference.com/) and Djembe Guru (https://www.djembeguru.com). If you like what I'm doing, you'll love what he's doing!
That being said, you can use other parts learned elsewhere. There are lots of different ways to arrange Kassa.
I did this track and many more in response to the social isolation related to COVID-19. I had no one to drum with, and I figured others were in the same situation.. You’ll find lots of other practice tracks on my YouTube channel.
Enjoy!
