The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 kicked off with a bang, delivering a spectacular opening ceremony that set the stage for a thrilling season. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata was transformed into a dazzling spectacle, blending Bollywood glamour with cutting-edge technology and, of course, the electrifying energy of cricket.  

A Star-Studded Extravaganza:

The evening began with a breathtaking drone show, painting intricate patterns and team logos across the night sky. The crowd erupted as hundreds of drones danced in perfect synchronization, creating a mesmerizing visual display. The excitement continued with a series of electrifying performances from some of India’s biggest stars.

Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, the host of the evening, set the stage on fire with his charisma and energy. He even got Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh to dance with him! Shreya Ghoshal captivated the audience with her soulful voice, performing some of her most loved songs, including "Mere Dholna", "Ghoomar", and the powerful "Kar Har Maidan Fateh". Disha Patani set the stage ablaze with her high-energy dance moves, performing to hit tracks. Punjabi music sensation Karan Aujla had everyone on their feet, vibing along to his popular tracks.  

The performances were punctuated by stunning fireworks displays, painting the night sky with vibrant colors and creating a truly unforgettable experience.  

The Cricket Takes Center Stage:

Following the dazzling ceremony, the focus shifted to the main event: the opening match between KKR and RCB. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric as the two teams took to the field.

KKR started strongly, building a solid foundation. However, RCB's bowlers fought back, taking crucial wickets at regular intervals.

KKR managed to post a competitive total of174 in their 20 overs. RCB''s run chase was a smooth ride. They started aggressively, Kohli played a brilliant innings.

In the end, RCB emerged victorious, winning the match by 7 wickets. The crowd erupted in celebration, marking a thrilling start to the IPL 2025 season.
