“The Story Behind the Murder of Balaj Tipu, Whose Brother Has Now Emerged” sheds light on a gripping tale. Balaj Tipu, known as “Truck Driver Balaj,” met a tragic end during a wedding ceremony. Notably, his father, Tipu Truckanwala (on the left), and grandfather, Billa Billa Truckan (on the right), were also previously murdered. The intricate web of Balaj’s life included the challenge that he couldn’t venture too far from home due to various complexities.
The “Truckanwala” family from Circular Road in inner Lahore had a unique security arrangement. Whenever Balaj, their son, needed to step out beyond the four walls of their home, an armed convoy of guards accompanied him in vehicles. This lifestyle became necessary for Balaj after he inherited the legacy of “family enmity” at the tender age of 17 or 18. In 2010, his father, Arif Amir (known as Tipu Truckanwala), was shot dead upon his return from Dubai at Lahore Airport. Recently, Amir Balaj Tipu was attending a friend’s wedding in a private housing society in Lahore, where an undercover photographer was present. This photographer, disguised as a guest, concealed a weapon in his attire.
During the event, the photographer attempted to approach Balaj several times, but his guards thwarted his efforts. However, at one point, the photographer managed to get close to Balaj while still in disguise. He drew his hidden firearm and fired at Balaj. In response, Balaj’s guards also opened fire, resulting in the assailant’s demise. Unfortunately, before being neutralized, the photographer had already fired three or four shots into Balaj’s body. Balaj was rushed to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have filed a case against Khawaja Tariq Gulshan (known as Tariq Butt) and Khawaja Aqeel Gulshan (known as Gogi Butt), along with four unidentified individuals, based on the complaint filed by Balaj’s brother, Amir Musab.
The intriguing aspect is that both Tariq Butt and Gogi Butt were previously employed by the family. Tariq Butt, who worked for Tipu Truckanwala, was allegedly involved in the murder of Balaj’s father. As for Gogi Butt, he has connections to the family through marriage, and renowned wrestler Nabi Bakhsh also hails from this lineage. The “Truckanwala” family, primarily of Kashmiri origin, resides near Shah Alam Gate in Lahore, an area colloquially referred to as Shah Alam. Their extensive business includes the “Gadaz Transport” company. The moniker “Truckanwala” became synonymous with their name due to this business.
