The Shining-green Hummingbird (Chrysuronia goudoti) is a hummingbird of northern and western South America, found in Colombia, Venezuela, and parts of Panama. It is known for its bright, iridescent green plumage, which can shift in tone with the light, giving the species its name. The tail is typically blue-green, and the bill is straight and slender.

This species is commonly seen in dry forests, scrub, savannas, forest edges, and gardens, showing a preference for warmer, open landscapes rather than cloud forest habitats. It feeds on nectar from a wide variety of flowering plants and supplements its diet with small insects caught in flight.

Conservation: Classified as Least Concern, the Shining-green Hummingbird remains widespread and locally common across much of its range. However, local populations can be affected by habitat conversion, especially in dry and scrub habitats that are easily altered by land use.
