The Undefeated fort of India

Many kings ruled this fort after Yadavas including Alaudin khilji , Muhammad bin-tugluq, Aurangzeb, but the fort was never defeated against its full potential in an attack.

In 1296 Alauddin khilji raided devagiri , at that time the army of devagiri was away on an expedition under king's son, the king retreated to the top of the hill fort while khilji ransacked the lower city, Yadavas were not prepared for this attack and due to insufficient power the king signed a peace treaty with khilji, later khilji used the wealth looted from devagiri to kill and dethrone his uncle Jalaluddin khilji , in 1308 khilji sent another expedition to devagiri which forced Yadavas king to become his vassal and later in the history the fort was ruled by Tughluq who tried to shift the capital Delhi to devagiri but failed.
