Setting Proper Motorcycle Chain Tension (Specifically a Yamaha FZ1) Start to Finish Complete How To!

Описание к видео Setting Proper Motorcycle Chain Tension (Specifically a Yamaha FZ1) Start to Finish Complete How To!

I recently did a video swapping a front 17T sprocket with a 16T and because I slacked the chain to remove the sprocket I included a tutorial on adjusting proper chain tension. Whatever the tension your manufacturer recommends may be different from the specs for my 2012 Yamaha FZ1 (All gen 2 2006-2015 Yamaha FZ1's are the same spec) but the process for setting proper tension is typically the same across the board, as follows:

Set bike on center stand, remove axle nut, loosen adjustment nuts and bolts, push tire in to give chain slack, pull tire back and snug up adjustment bolts and nuts and axle nut to remove any play (Plus I bang on the tire side to side just in case something is hung up causing any binding chain slack), FIND THE TIGHT SPOT IN THE CHAIN, continue tightening the adjustment bolts back and forth so that each side has the same amount of increments left on the back of the swing arm, once chain tension is where you want it, take the bike off the center stand and put it on the kick stand then finish tightening the adjustment nuts to the swingarm and finally tighten the axle nut! You're done!!

Thanks for watching the video hope you have SUBSCRIBED and I'll see you again on the next one!!
