Steps To Upload PDF To Squarespace

Squarespace allows you to create a website, whether you have prior web design experience or not. The platform aims to handle all your website needs to achieve this goal, ranging from hosting to designs, and it provides a wide range of options to select from.
The platform format is primarily based on text, rather than images. You may want to upload PDF files to your Squarespace website, but one problem you will run into frequently is the difficulty of embedding or uploading this file type into your webpages, forcing you to do it manually.
Adding PDF files into your webpage
You can achieve this is two ways:
Linking a PDF file to your webpage
The problem with this method is that your PDF will not appear on the page, but if your file is mostly text though, this will not be a problem.
On the webpage, add a regular text block.
Add text into the block, and highlight it
Under the text block, select the Link icon
This will bring up a small text field. You can put the link to the PDF file in this field through the gear icon that you can find on the side.
This brings up a menu that has several options, and File is among these choices. Select this option and choose whether you want a file that already exists in your library, or whether you want to upload one.
Select Save, which will link your PDF into the text.
Embedding a PDF into a Squarespace web page
If you instead want to embed the whole PDF on the page, there are some additional steps you should take, with most being outside the Squarespace website itself.
Access the official Issuu website and create an account if you do not have one, or log into your account.
This will take you to the main page, where you will find an Add Content option. Select it.
This will bring up a box that allows you to drag and drop the file. Alternatively, you can select the file by selecting the button below the box.
When you select the file, it will start uploading it to the publications list on issuu. To embed the PDF to your page, you will need the unique code that issuu will provide, as this corresponds to your PDF file.
Click the Publications tab, and this will allow you to choose what you want to do with the PDF. Choose the PDF you want to embed, get the code, and select the Embed on Website option.
Scroll along the options that are in the resulting popup menu, and finish by selecting the Save and Get code option.
Go back to your Squarespace account and select the insert button where you want to insert the PDF code, choose the Code option, and paste the code.
Publish the PDF by selecting Save.
