Warlock is a spec that seems to be most difficult for mages to pick up, requiring more time to fine tune it than other specs, but plays really well on most fights. The only thing that I would say is a drawback to this spec is that it could have a difficult time on fights with lots of movement. I have gotten as much as 16K on Progenitor Saetos, but that is only on when I'm in a group that knows how to keep movement to a minimum, as of late I have not been able to and have had to resort to using Pyromancer where I can only pull about 13K. Yes, most of your damage over time (DOT) spells are instant cast, but the main source of damage per second (DPS) is Void Bolt which does heaps of damage due to the fact that it does more damage with more death DOTs on the target and is not instant cast unless Opportunity procs. The reason I use Pyromancer rather than the Harbinger is because Warlock has the lowest spell power out of all the mage specs. The 10% does not have as large an affect as the critical hit chance from Pyro does for DPS. The knockback reduction from Pyromancer also ensures the maximum amount of Void Bolts during Empowered Darkness. Additionally, Blazing Light does nothing to increase the damage of Void Bolt, Void Barrage, Draining Bolt, or Consuming Agony like the other death based damage over time spells do and it only seems to muddy the rotation making it easier to make mistakes.
