Customer from Ashford called saying he broke the key in his patio door and he would like some help unlocking it and changing the lock.

Doesn't sound too bad over the phone, but this one definitely put up a fight. The multi point lock had seized trapping the cam from the barrel in turn blocking the door shut. Would've been nice and easy indeed if the lock was a cheap standard security one, but out of all the locks in the world it had to be a British Standard 3 star one... highest security standard currently available in the UK.

With a lot of patience and some precise drilling, of course, I got it out and managed to open the door. Everything was done under the plate of the handle so once the handle was back on the door no one would be none the wiser. All necessary parts were replaced from stock there and then.

Customer happy... everyone happy... onto the next job.
