CROWBAR: "First Gig" - July 1, 1991 - New Orleans, LA.

This is a video I shot of CROWBAR playing their first gig at the State Palace Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 1, 1991.

I had booked and was the promotor of this show after getting my feet wet booking some locals and doing the PANTERA show in April of 1991 at the Civic Center. I wanted to see EXHORDER and CROWBAR play together and got stuck with a mercy booking in the form of WRATHCHILD AMERICA, who were added to the bill to "headline". (Jay A. and Shannon L. are cool, but the other 2 dudes in that band were rockstar ****heads!)

The show was a bust, (too big of a venue and not enough people to cover the costs) but it was still cool to get 2 of New Orleans best bands together on one night. The people that were there enjoyed it and so did I and that's all that matters!

This was the first official show after changing their name from THE SLUGS to CROWBAR. I was glad to be a part of another chapter of great music history in the New Orleans scene.
