A weekly shiur by Dayan Levi Yitzchok Raskin, Rov of Anash in London, explores interesting Torah questions and halachic dilemmas.

The following issues are discussed by Dayan Raskin in this week’s episode:

1) Did the Kohanim guarding the Beis haMikdosh sleep on the floor?[1]
2) How should one measure chocolate wafers for Brocho Acharona?[2]
3) I have a Hoodie that has “Fear G-d” emblazoned on the sleeve. Is it okay for me to wear it?[3]
4) One of our regulars has begun bringing her dog with her to Shabbos morning services. Other congregants are bothered by this. Any advice?[4]
5) May a bochur take food from the Yeshiva’s kitchen before mealtimes? After all, that food is earmarked for the bochurim’s benefit.[5]
6) Legally when someone declares bankruptcy, he cannot be compelled to pay his outstanding loans. Is this recognised in halacha – due to דינא דמלכותא דינא?[6]
7) When blowing Shofar for a woman, may one say the brocho with her word for word?[7]
8) In his Sidur, the Alter Rebbe advises to cut off the corner of a blanket used during daytime, to avoid the need for Tzitzis. Why is this not followed widely?[8]
