Richard Strauss - Träumerei, No.4 from 'Stimmungsbilder', Op.9

I didn't know that Richard Strauss wrote piano pieces. So when I found this hauntingly beautiful piece in a piano works collection I knew I had to play it.

About the work:
Richard Georg Strauss (1864-1949) was a German composer, conductor, pianist, and violinist. Considered a leading composer of the late Romantic and early modern eras, he has been described as a successor of Richard Wagner and Franz Liszt.

Some of Strauss's first compositions were solo instrumental and chamber works. These pieces include early compositions for piano solo in a conservative harmonic style, many of which are lost. His 'Stimmungsbilder', Op.9 was composed in 1884 and first published in 1903.
