Castleton Caravan Club Site Pt 1 - Our Motorhome Travels

Leaving straight after work on a Friday for the drive to Castleton in the Peak District we ran into traffic on the M1 and anxiously hoped we would make it to site before the cut off at 8pm!

Luckily for us the pizza van was on site for a takeaway and as we ate we reflected on the increasing costs of camping.

As we were late we had to take a pitch near the road which was noisy at first but soon went quiet. It seems to be a popular route for bikes and hot hatchbacks taking in the Winnats Pass and Hope Valley Road.

The site itself is immaculate, friendly welcome, plentiful hot showers and even has a drying room and games room.

A short walk away is beautiful Castleton with Peveril Castle, several caverns and the Blue John mine. Many pubs, restaurants and cafes are in town as well as a bakery, gift shops, tourist information, museum and store.
