Brochevarevarura | Raga Khamas | Classical Mix

Описание к видео Brochevarevarura | Raga Khamas | Classical Mix

Brocevarevarura is a popular Telugu Carnatic krithi composed by Mysore Vasudevachar in the Ragam Khamas. This piece was famously adapted by the composer K. V. Mahadevan and rendered by the late S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and Vani Jayaram for the Telugu film Sankarabharanam.

Here we pay a tribute to the film rendition by reenacting the guru-shishya scene that precedes the song. We add our own twist by restructuring the song order, implementing thisra jati and harmonies, and selecting more traditional carnatic sangathis than the film version. The song reaches a beautiful crescendo with a korvai composed by Arun Mahadevan

Performed by Alapana Bhagirath (vocals), Arjun Shankar (vocals), Niveditha Arun (veena), G. Sreenivasan (violin), Sudeendra C Apte (mridangam, ghatam, konnakol) and Raghul S Raghava (kangaroo, other fillers)
