Gullane: Story of a Golf Club

Описание к видео Gullane: Story of a Golf Club

Our East Lothian series continues with a Story of a Golf Club episode from Gullane. Whilst the pronunciation of Gullane is a hotly contested debate, there is complete unanimity on the quality of the courses! With no founding architect cited by the club, we can only thank Mother Nature for the 3 wonderful links courses that sit front and centre of Gullane town and are all maintained to the same exacting standards.

Host to 2015 and 2018 Scottish Open, Gullane plays across the top of Gullane Hill and the views across the Firth of Forth are simply staggering, with Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s seat in the distance. The flip side of this, is that the course is open to the elements, and the winds frequently howl, even on a calm day!

Gullane comes without quirks, and despite its history which stretches all the way back to 1650, there are no awkward holes, or blind shots, instead it stands there today, able to test the world’s best players and is simply one fantastic, honest links course!

We hope you enjoy the film!
