George Bernard Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession

Описание к видео George Bernard Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession

Few dramatists shaped the course of modern British drama as much as George Bernard Shaw, who imported Ibsen's focus on social issues, realism, and a didactic or polemic drama, then combined it with an Irish wit and humor. Through his promotion of Ibsen's works, and then through his own theatre, Shaw provided a platform for much of 20th century British drama to draw on. Mrs. Warren's Profession is a late Victorian play focusing on the social issues of prostitution, capitalism, the New Woman, and the limited opportunities for poor women.
