OK so it looks like you need a lot of documentation to fly to the EU after BREXIT but in reality the only extra things you need are COVID related and even those are now pretty minimal. You may not get asked for all of these but you should never assume you won’t be. Carry all original documents if possible, especially your licence and medical certificate.

Make sure you plan well and inform all required parties in good time and through experience I can advise you to print off everything you can just in case your smart device doesn’t work.

Also a Flightplan is not a substitute for getting PPR so make sure you have permission to land before leaving the ground.

DOCUMENT LINKS:
As well as all the usual documents including, valid passports with at least 3 months validity from the time you plan to leave for your return to the UK left, your Pilots Licence (for PIC) plus valid medical and all aircraft documents including insurance, valid Permit or CofA, VAT status and registration documents should be carried and available.
It’s also wise to have travel insurance.

CUSTOMS & IMMIGRATION
You need to complete a GAR for your return flight back to the UK. The UK General Aviation Report GAR Submission website (you can also do this directly through the SkyDemon App): https://www.submit-general-aviation-r... If you wish to this by email you can send the completed form available from here ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publica... ) to this address: [email protected]

French Customs Aviation Report forms are PDF documents that can be filled in on your PC or device but must be emailed to French customs. I can’t find an open version but each declared customs entry airfield will have their own version, these are available from their websites. The one for Calais LFAC is available from here: http://www.aeroport.capcalaisis.fr/wp...

The address to send it to is [email protected]

FLIGHTPLANS
Flightplans are best processed through your SkyDemon App, however if you want to do it manually you would normally fill out the ICAO form available from here: http://www.myafpex.co.uk/documents/FP... and either email it or physically take it to your local FBO. You are advised to get a receipt to ensure the flight plan has been processed.

Make sure you also complete a Flightplan for your return flight. You are responsible to ensure any active flightplan is closed once you are on the ground.

A great tutorial website outlining how to fill in and file a flightplan is here: https://files.eurofpl.eu/originalfpl/...

COVID
You can get both the French health declaration form (which needs to be filled out by hand and emailed from the BA website here: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/... with your customs form and brief flight details to [email protected]

If you are staying for more than a day you will need to fill in the French Passenger Locator form here: https://app.euplf.eu/#/
Don’t forget to ensure your Covid status is available through the NHS Covid App and for belt and braces take a printed copy with you. You must be fully vaccinated.

My name is Terry Kent and I am a General Aviation PPL private pilot operating out of North Weald EGSX about 12 miles to the north east of London in the UK. Short Field is my channel focused on the lighter side of General Aviation including flight and airfield reviews, equipment unboxing and review plus all things private pilot related. I use various cameras to record my videos including GoPro and Insta 360 and stills and edit them in Adobe Premiere Pro, I am an animator as well and often use animations to describe situations more clearly I use Blender and Adobe After Effects for these. I always attempt to post my videos in the highest possible quality, normally 4k.

I fly VFR and IFR as well as visual and instrument approaches.

My videos may give helpful information to pilots but please remember these are just for entertainment, I am not an instructor nor should anything shown in my videos be used for real world aviation, also the airfields I visit may have totally changed or even closed since the making of the video so always consult the latest information for your country.

If you like my content you could buy me a coffee but no worries if you don't want too, I'm just chuffed that you are even interested in my videos, and if you ever see me at any airfields please come over and say 'Hi' and I'll probably buy you a coffee.
