Churnet Valley Railway - May Steam Gala - 4/5/24

From May 4th - May 6th, the Churnet Valley Railway held a May Steam Gala event. This gala weekend saw 4 locomotives in service hauling local and full line services. Both resident S160s 5197 and 6046 were in service alongside two guest locomotives. 4079 Pendennis Castle was visiting from Didcot Rail Centre and BR Standard Class 4 75014 'Braveheart' from Dartmouth Steam Railway and had already been here operating on selected dates. The gala event was its final appearance on the line before heading home.

Both S160s on Saturday and Sunday would also double head in the afternoon on the 14:45 service to Ipstones and 4F 44422 was on display at Cheddleton. Overall a nice little gala event and a good day out, the weather was great for the weekend, particularly on the Saturday when we attended.

All shots in this video are filmed by myself and my dad, there is a good variety of shots in this video. Quite happy with the shots that we got.
