The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (2010) explained how a collaborative-ready workforce is a key step in moving health systems from fragmentation to a position of strength. In this Café, Dr. John Gilbert revisits and summarize the key features of the WHO’s Framework and outline action items that remain applicable to local health systems. He will highlight the need to adapt policies to fit local challenges and needs.
