I totally believe that God still speaks today but the amount of “I hear God saying” and “God told me tell you” in these sermons deserves a side eye. Since what often follows the declaration of God having something to say is rarely scripture or at least scriptural. We’re on holy ground whenever we employ prophetic authority to make a point. So be careful.

“Don’t stifle the Spirit. Don’t despise prophecies, but test all things. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil.”
