More than a year after the resignation of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian Revolution continues to inspire global democratic movements. But as stability has yet to return to Egypt and the military government continues to hold power, questions grow about the next steps for the nation. With a focus on the roots of the revolution and what might come next, The New School's Center for Public Scholarship will convene its 27th Social Research conference, Egypt in Transition on Thursday, April 12th in New York.
The panel is composed of
Hazem Fahmy, economist and writer, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs
Mohammed Tabishat, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, American University in Cairo

The Center for Public Scholarship is dedicated to engendering and enhancing freedom of inquiry and to addressing, illuminating, and alleviating the pressing social issues of our times. http://www.newschool.edu/cps/
