Remaking Barnsley (Part 2) 2017 - 2018

In this series called '' Remaking Barnsley'' I will be taking you through the redevelopment of Barnsley town centre step by step, year by year.

In this video we start in 2017 with the construction or a brand new central library called " Library @ The Lightbox" then the demolition of the long empty TEC building and closure of the indoor market.

2017 also saw the start of phase 1 of The Glass Works redevelopment, this phase would see the former metropolitan centre taken back to a concrete shell and the opening of market parade.

2018 saw the closure of the multi storey car-park, meat & fish market and market parade.
Later that year the former meat & fish market would be demolished and a new one opening in phase 1 of the development.

2018 also saw the closure of the temporary market as the traders moved into the brand new indoor market located in phase 1.
