That creator Seth Macfarlane came up with the idea of writing Adam West into the show after writing him into another series? One of the funniest characters in Macfarlane’s hit cartoon comedy Family Guy comes in the shape of former Batman actor Adam West. West appears frequently in Family Guy as the mayor of the fictional city of Quahog, where the show is set, but Macfarlane had previously written the character, who is voiced by West himself, into another show he had worked on - Johnny Bravo. In Johnny Bravo, West can be seen presenting ‘The Adam West Show’ and clearly Macfarlane saw some comic longevity in keeping the character going in Family Guy.
