Backpacking - Big South Fork, Tennessee in 4K - Snakes, Bears, Hypothermia, and Rookie Mistakes!

Join me as we head off on what was supposed to be a 3 day / 60-mile loop in the Big South Fork NRA in Tennessee. I say "supposed to be" because these things never go quite as planned, now do they?
We head off on what is listed on the Big South Fork's website as the "John Litton-John Muir-West Entrance Backcountry Route", but chose the Sawmill Trailhead as the starting point. Once we get down into the Laurel Fork Creek area we get our feet wet...a LOT!
From there we head up the West Entrance trail towards the Bandy Creek area and this is where things start to go haywire...from wrong turns to bears and snakes to pouring rain and flooded creeks, this trip was unlike any other I have ever done...and therein lies the FUN!!
