A group of university students was attacked by a man with a fire extinguisher for practicing a dance routine in public Tuesday night. The dancers were practicing at a designated dance area at Banqiao Station. But that seemed to have upset a passerby, who started yelling out profanities at them and ended up blasting them with a fire extinguisher. Let’s hear more.

It’s shocking. Like, why would you just grab a fire extinguisher and target students? And they weren’t doing anything wrong. It’s inevitable that weirdos come up every now and then, trying to steal our wallets or things, or sexually harassing the girls.

It’s so scary. I come here to practice all the time. It’s so dangerous.

The case has been transferred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office to investigate on charges of damage and public endangerment.

Security footage shows a man in black passing through the underground corridor. He looks at the college students and then grabs a nearby fire extinguisher and proceeds to spray them. The dancers scurry away shielding themselves, but the man continues to spray them. It was a scary situation for sure, but fortunately, everyone came out unscathed.
