Zara Tindall worked hard to compete in the Badminton Horse Trials this week, but on Friday the princess enjoyed some well-deserved time with husband Mike.

Zara, 42, let down her hair while attending a Fairfax and Favor Black Eye Gin reception.

She looked casually chic in an oversized ba&sh denim shirt and skinny jeans, completing her look with slip-on Adidas sneakers and sunglasses by Australian designer Seto Shades.

Princess Anne's daughter was joined by her husband of 13 years, Mike, who has been supporting Zara throughout the horse trials. Her father, Captain Mark Phillips, was also seen at the five-day equestrian event

Looks like Zara's horse experience
On the first day of trials, Zara was seen during the first horse inspection running alongside her horse Class Affair in casual clothes.

She was wearing skinny white jeans with a cinched waist, and a white crew-neck shirt. She also wore a stunning navy blue striped single-breasted jacket with sleeves rolled up to the elbow, Veronica Beard's "Batista" style.

To match her relaxed look, Zara swapped her heels for a pair of sneakers - a 'Boston' pair from Fairfax & Favor with green stripes down the side.

Earlier this month, the athlete also attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show where she met her uncle King Charles, who has quietly returned to his public duties. The couple was photographed warmly hugging and kissing each other on the cheek.

Zara looked particularly chic on the day, wearing a checkered ensemble consisting of a single-breasted blazer, Cefinn's "dark charcoal black oversized Jordan wool jacket" and matching "Terence" wide-leg trousers. She accessorized with a black quilted crossbody bag, a “Lottie” bag from Aspinal of London approved by the royal family.

Like her mother, Zara is an accomplished equestrian and won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, presented to her by Princess Anne.

She and her husband Mike live at Anne Gatcombe Park Farm in Gloucestershire with their three children - daughters Mia and Lena, aged 10 and five, and son Lucas, three.
