How To Turn a Square Graph Into a Crochet Circle

Long before circular graph patterns became the norm, if I wanted to crochet a circle I needed to figure out how to use a square graph pattern to do it. In today's world I don't find the circle graph patterns any easier to use. As a matter of fact the only advantage is that they are round (honestly I find them harder to use, but that just might be because I'm not used to them).

With thousands of square graph patterns out there (many of them free) this skill opens up an incredible world of possibilities and beauty to you. Imagine a round table cloth or rug, artfully created with tapestry crochet. The center of a doily would pop with a picture on the inside. Create hats like no one else has even imagined. And yes, the bottom of those beautiful Mochila bags.
