🌳 Jaipur's Lungs Being Sacrificed for Concrete 🧱

Dhol Ka Badh — a 100-acre forest in the heart of Jaipur — is being cut down to make way for a Unity Mall, fintech parks, and luxury hotels.

This isn’t just “development.” It’s destruction dressed as progress.

This forest lowers local temperatures by 2–5°C.
It generates over 250 tonnes of oxygen every year.
It helps recharge Jaipur’s groundwater by up to 30%.
It’s home to 2400+ native trees, 60+ medicinal plants, 85+ bird species, and countless insects, animals, and fungi — all working silently to keep the city alive.

And now? It’s being cleared for glass buildings and cement blocks.

Ironically, in 2021, this same project was opposed by leaders who are now pushing it forward. Politics has changed — but the climate crisis hasn’t. Rajasthan is reeling under record heat and water shortages, and we’re cutting down the very forest that could help us adapt.

Experts and citizens have proposed turning Dhol Ka Badh into a biodiversity park — something that would benefit both nature and tourism. But their voices are being ignored.

Forests like this aren’t liabilities. They’re lifelines.
Once they’re gone, we don’t get them back.
