In this video, we will go over the AI Automatic Detection feature for video Redaction in CaseGuard.

Select the “AI Detection” icon in the video section of the Toolbar which is the smiley face icon on the right side of the screen.
From the “AI Detection” window, select one or more items for the software to detect and Redact. You have the option to select faces, screens, license plates, papers, people, vehicles, checks, and/or signatures.
Next, select the shape for your Redaction box.
Then choose the Redaction or Enhancement effect you would like to apply from the effects dropdown.
From the level bar under the effect chosen, you can increase or decrease the intensity of the Redaction effect applied.
You can choose to apply a “Standard” Redaction, a “Reverse” Redaction, or a “Full Frame” Redaction as shown in the Preview box on the right side of the AI Detection window.
You can apply a Redaction Reason using the “Reason” dropdown, click the plus sign to add a new one if you do not see one that fits your case.
The Redaction Reason chosen will appear in the “Exemption Log” under the “Print Reports” section at the top of your Workspace.
Click “Next.”
Select if you want to run AI Automatic Detection on the “Whole File” or a “Selected Range.” Use “Selected Range” when you only need to Redact a portion of your video.
When using “Selected Range” you can choose the start and end time from the play bar of the preview or enter the exact start and end frame or the exact start and end time for your file from the “Metrics” dropdown.
Click “Next” and “Apply” if you don’t need to use any of the Advanced Options listed below.

Advanced Options:
In the audio section, a mute, bleep, or change voice effect can be added to the entire audio of the file. You can also add a Redaction reason.
Check the “Classify Results” checkbox if you need to unredact any person or object otherwise, you can uncheck it and all similar objects will be grouped together and the software will run about 70% faster.
Check the “360 video, 4K, 8K or Drone Footage” box if your video file is one of these types.
The confidence percentage is defaulted to 20% but can be lowered for dark environment videos so the software can Redact more objects, and if too many false positives are picked up it can always be increased to at least 25% for the software to be more accurate.
The task can be scheduled for a later time if it is a large file using the “Scheduled” option.
Use the “Save as Template” option to save all the selected settings as a template for similar videos.
Click “Apply” and the software will begin automatically detecting and Redacting your video.

Once AI Automatic Detection is done automatically Redacting your video, you can view your video in three different modes:

“Edit Mode” is the default, showing the placed Redaction outlined with a red line.
“Edit Mode (View)” shows the Redaction effect as transparent, outlined with a red line.
“Preview Mode” shows what exported file will look like.

When you are satisfied with the Redactions applied, select “Save” and “Export.”
