David Popa was born and raised in NYC currently based in Finland. His interest in Street Art/Contemporary Muralism was the catalyst for the work he presently creates. His current body of work uses all-natural pigments mixed only with the source water to create site-specific, ephemeral earth-works captured through the eye of a drone. Through his work, Popa beckons the viewer to consider the nature of our brief existence and relish in its profound mysteries and everyday miracles.

"As a young boy, my father Albert Popa would take me frequently to the sculpture garden of the Met Museum in NYC to draw from the various sculptures. One of the most notable features you notice are the missing portions of these remnants of the past. It was often these imperfections that made the work beautiful and mysterious to me. The time spent working on this latest piece was was all too reminiscent of the time spent with my father sketching in the halls of great art- with his guiding voice inspiring me to look to the beauties of the past to inform our direction for the future." - David Popa
