Lean On Me/ Black & White rag improvs

Disclaimer: I recorded these when I was somewhat done in, exhausted and everything was stiff with inflammatory nonsense: wrists, shoulders, fingers, elbows. I am painfully aware of the musical issues, but I think that people who like me (I’m reasonably sure that this set is non-empty) might like to see them. I’d like to be able to remember the chord structures so as to be a bit freer but I’m not really very memorable at the moment, so the sheet music is needed as a rough guide.

I found a cool gospelesque arrangement of Lean On Me by Bill Withers, which is a song which works for me at the moment. That’s what I start with. I then have a stab at The Black and White rag (the theme tune to Pot Black for those who remember the 70s). In any case, there are some ideas in them that I quite like, and even some which work out! I’m hoping to be able to do a better job if and when when summer thaws me out and grants me sleep - although let’s be honest, this is about as likely as something really unlikely :-).
