USAL Beach 4x4 Dispersed Camping

USAL Beach campground. Driving the 4WD 4x4 dirt road to the dispersed overland beach camping at the USAL Sinkyone State Park on the Lost Coast on the Northern California Coastline off of Highway 1. We explore how to get there from Westport on Hwy 1nor Leggett on Hwy 101, what the road is like in wet and dry conditions, the types of camping available and what the beach is like. We discuss USAL history, logging, Candelabra Redwoods location, and the Lost Coast Hiking Trail which goes from Mattole Beach to Shelter Cove. We enjoy the USAL creek with sea otters, swallows, Canada geese, pelicans, and ducks. We address the lack of rules and renegade camping, loud partying, fireworks, that occur at USAL beach.
