Boxer and Congress leader Vijender Singh joined the BJP on Wednesday ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The Olympic medallist had contested the 2019 polls as a Congress candidate from the South Delhi constituency.
He joined the saffron party in New Delhi in the presence of BJP's National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.
Vijender's name had been reportedly in discussion for the last few days as the Congress's nominee from Mathura, where actor and incumbent BJP MP Hema Malini is contesting again.
