Although it is unfortunate it is a harsh reality that there is a spurt increase in the patients with heart problems in the recent past that has resulted in the opening up of Super speciality Heart Care Centers - both in government and corporate sector.

The cardiologist can expect to get an average monthly salary of Rs.1.5 Lakh in the private sector and if they are working in the government hospitals it can be anywhere between Rs.80,000 to Rs.1,00,000 compensated by free accommodation, perks and respect enjoyed by them. However, there is no upper limit for those efficient Cardiologists who are managing their own heart care centres.

In the end, I would like to clear one doubt about the profession of a Cardiologist and that common doubt is whether a cardiologist performs heart surgery or not. And the answer to this question is a big no as a cardiologist is not one who performs heart surgeries in fact, he is the one who tries to cure heart ailments with the help of medicine only. It is a Cardiac Surgeon who performs heart surgery if the heart problem is not curable.
