Chapter 1 of Celebrating Blossoms traces the journey of young Mayi Gowda, and the challenges he faced in his early life. Joining Mayi in reflection are notable authors and regular customers, Ramchandra Guha and Shoba Narayan, who paint a portrait of the bookstore’s early years.
