Wearing a red and black uniform and popular with millions of fans worldwide, Manchester United and Marvel superhero Deadpool have at least two things in common. It makes sense, therefore, that some of United's biggest stars, including Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have featured in a new video promoting the film Deadpool 2, released in the UK on Tuesday. It forms part of United's unusual promotional deal with 20th Century Fox, which has seen United players previously appear in adverts for the likes of X-Men: Apocalypse, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and the original Deadpool film.Scroll down for video Somewhat surprisingly, however, this promotion has the feature of being quite funny rather than very awkward, giving the United players a chance to show off their comedic acting talents.It starts with a young supporter being shocked as he arrives for a match, by a huge banner featuring Deadpool hung on the outside of Old Trafford.The video then cuts to the United dressing room, where all the players are instructed to wear shirts with 'Deadpool' and the No 2 on the back as part of a marketing deal, as well as other branded goods.The self-referential touch reflects the fourth-wall breaking humour which is the trademark of the Deadpool franchise, as well as the self-deprecating tone and foul-mouthed dialogue, as Lingard asks: 'What kind of **** is this?'  The England international is not the only one unconvinced, with Sanchez looking exasperated, Mata furious, Michael Carrick glad he has just retired, and Luke Shaw saying 'this is insane'.The players are consoled, however, by being told they are to wear Deadpool slippers, use Deadpool toilet paper and have Deadpool branding all over the stadium for their '659 million fans worldwide' - a reference to a survey done by the club in 2012.The video ends with a cameo by Deadpool himself, played by Ryan Reynolds, angrily declaring 'What in the Pogba' - referring to the midfielder, absent from this film - as he sees the players are not wearing 'the official Deadpool kneepads', and says he'll 'have Jose [Mourinho]'s head for this'.United have been promoting 20th Century Fox movies since February 2016, and adverts for Deadpool 2 have appeared during matches at Old Trafford towards the end of the Premier League season.
