How to beat Ifrit in solo quest story "The Pyreburner's Trial"
Video of step-by-step weapon craft from scratch. Base character build, Level 1, Lestallum birthplace, Easy to find/farm materials & weapon(s). NO Cid buff 30% craft level 3 bonus required. The keys are 99% Fire Resistance (Must- to defer Ifrit, Dragon Whisker (for optimal attack points), and Cura spell for heal)

You only need 1x Dragon Whisker (passive abilities Penetrator X plus imbued Penetrator), and 3x identically built Flame Shield , imbued with curative spell Cura).
Set-up: Glass Cannon, Rogue sigil Aerial Ace style, must HAVE resistances 99% Fire and 100% Dark to survive Ifrit attacks.

Corsesca (Level 1/30, Cauthess Depot, barter for 3x Crooked Helixhorn and 3x Barbed Scythe)
-Octololegs x3
-Monster Jaw x3
-Wicked Claws x1
-Chrome Bit x2 (remodels into Harpoon)

Harpoon (Level 30/60)
-Chrome Bit x29 (remodels into Dragon Whisker)

Dragon Whisker (Level 60/99)
-Meteorite x3 (to increase weapon into Level 120 cap)
-Cactuar Needle (imbue ability Penetrator)
-Chrome Bit x65 (keep imbued ability Penetrator)
-Strength Gemstone (maxes polearm at Level 120)

Flame Shield (Level 1/30, purchase at Lestallum)
-Meteorite x9 (to increase weapon into Level 120 cap)
-Treant Sap x1 (imbue ability Curative Spell: Cura)
-Forbidden Draught x1 (keep imbued ability Curative Spell: Cura)
-Dark Gemstone x1
-Flame Shard x1
-Curved Hollowhorns x20 (keep imbued ability Curative Spell: Cura)
-Strength Shard x1
-Garula Tusk x1 (keep imbued ability Curative Spell: Cura)
-Strength Gemstone x1 (maxes shield at Level 120)

Final Relevant Stats: Level 1, HP 1278, STR 2498, VIT 279, 99% FR, 100% DK

OF COURSE you can sub the 3 shields with any weapon you like, just gotta have OVER 1.5k points of strength, heal capability, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, have EXACTLY 99% (Not 100) of Fire Resistance (developer bug).
