Monuments - Atlas (guitar cover)

Atlas is one of my favorite songs of all time, just as this gorgeous Mayones Qatsi 2.0 (THE guitar that I was chasing for almost 7 years and has a whole damn story behind it). I wanted to celebrate them both and tried hard to do them justice and get it right. But getting it perfectly would probably mean never getting it done, so here is the best I can do so far.

And if for god knows what reason you're actually reading a video description (seriously, why?) here is a little story.

Atlas was one of the first progressive metal songs I've ever heard and it immediately captured me with it's groove, complexity and the motive, which even though it's metal and in-your-face, at the same time it's happy and invigorating, telling a story of travelers roaming around the world. At a time I knew fuck all about it and have barely been outside of Moscow.

Roughly at the same time Browne launched his signature Mayones Qatsi (which I think to this day is the most stunning guitar and finish ever produced) that I was drooling about for years not being able to afford and/or find it on sale.

Fast forward 5 years and with some luck I managed to snatch one of these guitars to myself, having waited for it to be made over a year and almost getting it lost in transit the first day I got it.

Now having lived in 6 countries around the world ending up in South America, Atlas seems like a perfect song to cover. And an absolute nightmare to play too. Enjoy (or don't, also why are you still reading?)
