Russia Forces African Students to Fight Against Ukraine For Visa Renewal: Report | Firstpost Africa

As Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine rages on Africans are increasingly becoming collaterals. According to Bloomberg's report, Russian officials have threatened not to renew the visas of African migrant workers and students if they didn't join the Russian armed forces. These African students and workers who migrate to other countries in pursuit of a better future are effectively left with two jarring choices. Either to return back to their own country, where there are likely fewer opportunities or agree to fight against Ukraine, which may eventually result in their death. Amid the two contrasting choices, African students have become Russia’s newest tool to advance its regional agenda.
