Crown & Caliber Watch Unboxing: Omega Seamaster Professional "James Bond" 2531.80.00

Today I am giving a look into the Crown & Caliber watch unboxing experience. I bought the Omega Seamaster Professional "James Bond" reference number: 2531.80.00. This is the same iconic reference of the Omega Seamaster Professional diver watch worn by Pierce Brosnan in his last three adventures as James Bond (Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day). *note the reference worn by Pierce in Goldeneye was the quartz movement version of this watch (2541.80.00) and they are basically the same in terms of metrics (the quartz version is slightly thinner).

Not only was the team at Crown & Caliber very responsive and easy to communicate with, they were extremely helpful with the entire watch-trading and purchasing experience with my seemingly thousands of questions.

I was the type of watch collector that swore I would never purchase a used timepiece for numerous reasons (ex: wearing an old/used watch seemed strange to me, cleanliness, even a little superstition). I then decided and realized that ALL of my watches that I love so dearly are in fact, worn/used, by me of course, but they are all by default, technically "used watches" now. In terms of cleanliness, a little of anti-bacterial dish soap and a soft-bristled toothbrush can take care of that. Lastly, most watch collectors who purchase/wear used timepieces won't know a complete detailed history of where that watch has been and who wore it doing God knows what. But each timepiece in its essence is a beautiful creation of art and the best way to honor their creators, is to continue letting them shine and be shown off! No time for negative thoughts here!

Next, I was naturally weary and hesitant with buying online as well. Until I decided to test the waters with Crown & Caliber (I'll admit it was equally comforting to know that the very reputable authority on all things timepieces, Hodinkee, are in partnership with them).

I made my selection, assessed the shipping arrangements, and a very short two days later, I had the Fedex deliveryman knocking on my door with a neatly packaged box with my beautiful timepiece within.
