Riddled with talent, influence and success, English rock star Eric Clapton is regarded as one of the most successful guitarists in rock and roll history. Eric Clapton began his music career in 1963 as a member of The Yardbirds, Bluesbreakers and Cream before starting his solo career in 1970. Eric Clapton worked alongside Derek and the Dominos, producing the double album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. The 1970s album is just one of many masterpieces created by Eric Clapton. In 1974 he released the album 461 Ocean Boulevard, which included his remake of Bob Marley’s ‘I Shot The Sheriff. ’ His riveting guitar solos gave rise to his career, but Eric Clapton showed the world his talents surpassed instruments through his impressive singing and songwriting. Over the next few decades, Eric Clapton released over a dozen albums, including Money and Cigarettes (1983) and Slowhand (1977), which contained his well-known J. J. Cale cover ‘Cocaine’ and hit single ‘Wonderful Tonight. ’ In 1990, the artist suffered the tragic loss of his four-year-old son, Conor, which inspired the critically acclaimed Grammy award-winning song ‘Tears in Heaven’. The artist has won many awards and has been inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame on more than one account. Eric Clapton has curated a grassroots following across multi-generations and has been named as a key influence by many famous guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen.
