Going on a nationwide first and causing quite a stir on social media, UK Emergency Alert Test is the newest addition to the list of public broadcasts. On Monday, April 26th 2021, around 12:30pm local time, people across the UK began receiving an unexpected alert on their phones with a message from the government reminding them to stay safe and follow the latest Covid-19 guidelines, as well as a sitewide warning about fraud.
